DID YOU KNOW

A betta's stomach is smaller than its eye.

  1. How many pellets do we feed them when the stomach is so tiny?

  3. Good question, people tend to forget that their own unstretched stomachs are only about the size of our fist. Food is fuel, if you knew how long it took to digest the food in the stomach, than ideally would be to feed the amount that will fit in the stomach as often as the stomach empty.
People eat meals and we feed our fish meals too, so its a good thing stomachs strech :-)
With that in mind, are you feeding a pet or a fish to breed soon?
My pet batt as are adult average sized (not kings) bettas and get fed 1 pellet 3 times a day, except one day a week I let them fast to give their digestive systems time to clear out any blockage that might be forming. I'd say a very slight heathy curved abdomen on a betta is healthy.
I'm not an expert and there may be other methods that work and are tons of other food options out there harder to measure than pellets, good luck!!!
